Our Story
The African Sports Federation and Academic Program (ASFAP) was founded in 2018 with a vision to empower African youth and young adults in the Seattle area through sports, mentorship, and academic support. By fostering leadership, teamwork, and community engagement, ASFAP has created opportunities for personal growth and development both on and off the field.
In its early years, ASFAP organized youth tournaments and events that brought communities together. However, the organization came to a halt during the pandemic as staff members relocated, and COVID-19 restrictions made it challenging to continue operations.
Today, ASFAP is making a strong comeback, reigniting its mission to inspire and uplift the next generation. While soccer remains central, the organization is expanding to include diverse sports and educational programs that promote health, leadership, and community strength. Together, we’re building a brighter future where sports and education create lasting impact.
